Standard mode provides the straight-line distance to your target and reads to a tenth of a yard or metre. Hold the power button to activate Active Scan and the unit will continuously update as you pan, making it easy to sweep a hedgerow, fence line or hillside and build a quick mental range card. It is a fast, intuitive way to confirm distances when seconds matter.
When weather rolls in, Rain mode helps ignore interference from falling raindrops. In this mode, the horizontal distance is also shown on the lower readout, giving a truer working figure for ballistic decisions. Hunt mode is tuned to filter out foreground clutter from long grass and brush so you can range through vegetation to the animal beyond, which is especially useful in woodland or overgrown field margins.
HD mode focuses on the horizontal component of the shot. The top line shows straight-line distance; the lower line shows horizontal distance, which is what most holdover charts and ballistic solvers rely on. Whether you are taking steep downhill shots from a ridge, shooting from a tree stand, or compensating for the loopy trajectories of airguns and bows, HD mode gives a more realistic number to use for aiming.
Angle mode displays the shot angle to the nearest tenth of a degree alongside straight-line distance, with a minus sign when aiming downhill. Having angle data at a glance helps confirm whether to hold under or over compared with a flat shot and pairs naturally with HD mode for complete situational awareness.
The optical system uses BK-7 prisms and multi anti-reflective coatings for a bright, true-colour image, while the wide-angle design (8°) aids fast target acquisition at 6x. The adjustable dioptre lets you sharpen the display to your eye so the reticle and numbers are crisp. Power management is simple thanks to an auto shut-off that preserves the CR2 battery between uses, and the sealed, nitrogen-purged chassis maintains a clear view in wet, cold or humid conditions.
Small enough for a chest pocket yet capable of ranging to 900 metres, Hawke Vantage 900 Laser Range Finder brings reliable measurements, practical modes and clear optics together in a fuss-free package for hunters, target shooters and airgunners. Add it to your kit and make confident range calls from first light to last.
