Standard mode provides the straight-line distance to the target, displayed to a tenth of a yard or metre. Hold the power button to activate Active Scan and the Vantage 600 continuously updates the reading as you pan across the scene or follow a moving subject. It is a fast way to sweep landmarks and build a quick mental range card when time is short.
When weather turns, Rain mode ignores interference from falling raindrops so you can trust the figure on screen. In this mode the range finder also shows horizontal distance on the lower readout, helping you make realistic decisions when precipitation could confuse other units. Hunt mode is tuned to filter out foreground clutter from grass and brush, letting you range through vegetation to the animal beyond, which is especially useful in woodland and long grass.
HD mode focuses on the horizontal component of the shot. The top line shows straight-line distance while the lower line displays the horizontal distance that ballistic charts and holdover aim points rely on. From steep hill shots to tree stands and loopy airgun trajectories, HD mode gives a truer working distance for more consistent results.
Angle mode measures the shooting angle to a tenth of a degree and displays it alongside straight-line distance. A minus sign appears when aiming downhill. Having angle data at a glance makes it easier to confirm whether to hold under or over compared with a flat shot, and pairs naturally with HD mode for complete situational awareness.
The optical system uses BK-7 prisms and multi anti-reflective coatings to keep the image bright and neutral, while the wide-angle design helps with fast acquisition at 6x. An adjustable dioptre lets you tune the display to your eye so the reticle and numbers are razor sharp. Power management is simple: the unit powers down automatically after a short period of inactivity to preserve the CR2 battery. The sealed, nitrogen-purged chassis resists rain and internal fogging so the view stays clear across seasons and temperature swings.
Small enough for a chest pocket yet capable of ranging to 600 metres, Hawke Vantage 600 Laser Range Finder brings reliable ranging, practical modes and clear optics together in a fuss-free package for hunters, target shooters and airgunners. Add it to your kit and make confident range calls from first light to last.
